Leatherface from “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” (1974)
Maybe the most effective horror movie of all time, the original TCM hits a nerve that few slasher movies can. The low budget, grainy film makes me feel as if the heat and the dirt is in my living room. The only thing I want after watching this movie is a warm shower and a cup of coco.
I choose to depict Leatherface as he appears at the end of the film. The end of this film is terrific, even as the girl drives away having survived nervously laughing and screaming, you know theres no coming back from this experience.
As leatherface throws his tantrum, we can’t help but think about how there is no closure, him and the rest of his manaic family are still out there, free to do this all again. Creepy. Love it.
I wanted to make this card as gross and ugly looking as possible. I smeared ink, then colored it with yellow and green gray to get that putrid yellow background, hit it with a razor blade. Its my Helter Skelter.
