Gather ‘round kids it’s story time—

This is in homage to a movie that scared me as a kid, Earth vs. The Spider(1958) It’s probably pretty standard B-movie fare, but a scene scorched itself unto my psyche like a habanero across a flaccid tongue…Camera pans along a suburban neighborhood, devastated after the giant spider made his way through, and then the camera stops and tightens on an infant alone in the street crying, his parents no doubt dead from the earlier carnage. For some reason, the thought of the young child, who will no doubt soon die without his parents really got to me. Nightmares and long thoughts of concern about the child’s well-being consume young Jake’s mind, was pretty heavy stuff to say the least. 

So, yeah, sketchcard, super fine brush pen, spoon full of sugar, the usual tools of the trade.
